L’environnement capacitant dans la maladie chronique

The enabling environment in the context of chronic disease and in relation to the advanced practice nurse function

Project overview Chronic disease in the daily life of people and the development of advanced practice in France, two themes linked to public health and nursing sciences. From health democracy to health democracy with the commitment of patients towards a culture of partnership in a context of explosion of chronic diseases, such is the challenge of accompanying people in the development of their power to act. The hypothesis of a favorable environment, called an enabling environment, is also posed. In order to answer this question, the Enki research program was built around three studies: an integrative review to qualify the enabling environment, an ethnographic study on the living environment of people living with heart disease, and a mixed study on the activities of nurses in relation to an enabling environment.
